Bipolar Christianity

Bipolar Christianity

Yes, a lot us in our journey with God find ourselves swinging from one end of the emotional spectrum to the other. Swiftly. I know I do. We may not suffer from the clinical diagnosis, but you know what I am talking about. Sometimes I hear that song in my head from the Lego Movie and I am not sure that singing everything is awesome! super loud is actually going to do the job.

Why is it that Christians have to try so hard to run an "everything is awesome" public relationship campaign all the time?

When I read the Psalms I find some comfort. Psalm 46 has been my stomping grounds for a few days. Also feeling a bit southern Americana. Enjoy a loose unedited first draft of a song idea.

Much Worse Than You Think

I am much worse than you think
Give me free  whiskey and that’s all I will drink
Drinking will dig me a hole in the ground
I’ll get on in till there's no man to be found

God is so much better than you think
He gives the water that a poor man drink
And in the well that will never run dry
Baptizes them who are ready to die

Sweet water of God
Coming up crimson, coming up high
Sweet water of God
Baptizing them who are ready to die

Sometimes it is the flailing first steps of a journey that inspire the direction for all the things to come. -B

The image choice was no accident. Someone I really admire, and someone who defied the tight margins of anyone's Christian culture page.
